Details for 2012 BMW Premium Map DVDs North America (CIC version)
Created by Ratio: 2.35MadHolms 5 years ago
Title says it all. Got this DVDs from a good guy from Texas. Installed in my BMW X5 2010 with no problems. All you need is to get the FSC code from dealer for ~$375 or from a private party (check gpsunderground) for about ~$100-150.

Assume this doesn't work for a 2007 BMW with iDrive. That only takes one disk. Since there are three that wouldn't work for me.

I have a 2007 BMW with iDrive. It only takes one navigation disk. As there are three here (which I assume is for some computer) this wouldn't work for me. I will wait for someone to post the North American Nav system

this is the NA Nav system. Your 2007 doesn't have the CIC version of navigation. I suppose it has CCC version. check here for your car
I installed this in BMW X5 2010 and it worked just perfectly.

The life is relative and reversible.

Works fine for 2010 X5 with CIC navigation, using ImgBurn and non-fake Verbatim media with 2.4X speed. Like the description says, you'll need a good "friend" working at BMW's service department to provide you with a FSC code (which unlocks the map once you start the installation). The coverage for North America, even with this update, is still pretty shitty and navigation still sometimes tells you (using voice output) to "turn left" or "turn right" even if the map shows you have to drive straight. If you want a better navigation - buy a cheap Garmin unit with a "free lifetime" map updates included in its price. Garmin uses Navteq's map database, which is better for USA area than TeleAtlas' map database (which is what BMW uses for new CIC navigation systems).
